On Wednesday, the primary students participated in the Public Speaking Contest. Students spent weeks preparing original speeches about topics that interest them. At the competition, students had the opportunity to recite their speech in front of a large audience of peers and teachers. This allows students to practice public speaking skills such as clarity, voice inflection, volume, eye contact, and pronunciation. Our students prepared diverse speeches about issues such as making the world a better place, racism and bullying, school uniforms, cafeteria food, and other topics. Overall, 26 students participated from grades 3,4, and 5.
